Why Magnum Opus?
"A masterpiece or a creation in any area of the arts that has been given much critical praise, especially one that is considered to be the greatest work of a persons career, or to a work of outstanding creativity, skill, profundity, or worksmanship."
Simply put, a Magnum Opus is the greatest achievement of an artist, representing their major life effort.
For me, I treat every student as if they are my own Magnum Opus.
“When we treat people merely as they are, they will remain as they are. When we treat them as if they were what they should be, they will become what they should be.” ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Welcome! I'm Judith.
I have always been fascinated with the piano and began lessons at a young age. My first teacher must not have realized how shy and intimidated I was and told my parents not to waste their money. She taught me to read a few notes, but I taught myself to read music.
My lessons resumed once my parents found the ‘right teacher’ and was placed in RCM 2, skipping most levels. I was so excited to participate in the festival and do exams. Even though I was shy, I wanted to immerse myself and loved that there were others who had the same passion for music and piano as I did.
As a teacher, it is important to accept the student where they are, yet always hold the vision of where their potential lies. I see all those who enter my studio as the musician they are capable of being, guiding them on their journey to the path of musical discovery. Many of my students have gone on to become teachers, performers, and composers for television and film. While I love preparing students for recitals, exams, competitions and auditions, it is the lifelong love of music and enjoyment of playing long after our lessons together have come to an end that I find most fulfilling.
